Come aboard!

Ahoy, matey...seamen have docked in Belfast! Captain Scarlett Muff, Dick von Dyke and trusty cabin boy Jim Lad invite you to come aboard The Mermaid's Fancy. Join Joan Jett Black and these daring sailors as they embark on a perilous quest, telling a breathless tale of kidnap and cruelty, of love and valour. Duelling on deck and singing songs of survival, the Pirates of Portrush will have you hoisting your hankies and drying away your salty spray...of laughter!

Hilary McCollum’s latest play, The Pirates of Portrush, is an hilarious spin on festive conventions, creating a Queertivity that will have audiences roaring with laughter and raging at inequality. Starring Gemma Hutton (Entertainer of the Year, GNI Awards 2016) as Dick von Dyke, alongside Rosie McClelland, Paula O’Reilly, Noel Andrew Harron, and Shannen McNeice, The Pirates of Portrush create a fairytale that is never too far from reality.

Directed by Alyson Campbell, with design by Niall Rea and costume design by Roisin McNamee.
